Hazelwood Neighbourhood centre set up a summer programme for juniors full of activities including flower arranging. We went along and taught the children the art of flower arranging. Here are some images from the two weeks we were there. All images of children have been given permission to be published by their parents.

July workshop

In July we had a fantastic workshop with Vicki Tuffen on how to make the perfect pedestal.

Here are the pictures from the workshop.  All very beautiful arrangements.

Club Meeting - Thursday 29th September 2016 Workshop

We would love for you to come along to our September workshop. 

Please see below the requirements that you would need to bring for the workshop with Sue Sewell.  There is also an example picture of what you will be making.

Visitors are £5.00.  The meeting starts at 7.30 p.m.

12” diam approx: charger plate or flat bowl with up to 3cm lip

2 x blocks of foam

Quantity of Medium sized leaves eg. Hedera, rubus, magnolia,   

        Laurel, (or a mixture for added interest)

Decorative pins

Few kebab sticks

Selection of small flowers, berries, grasses, clematis vine, sedum or other interesting foliage, (ideally just things from the garden )  

Small amount of moss 

A few crab apples or similar small fruit.

 

 

Chatsworth Florabundance Flower Festival

Yesterday 4 members of the club went to Chatsworth House to help Jonathan Moseley stage an exhibit as part of the Florabundance Festival.

The 4 ladies decorated Flora's Temple and had a fantastic day. Here are some of their creations and what they started from, we will add some more after the festival.

The Florabundance Festival at Chatsworth runs from Friday 24 June-Tuesday 28 June.

JULY PEDESTAL WORKSHOP VICKI TUFFEN

DECIDE ON YOUR COLOUR SCHEME AND CHOOSE FOLIAGE AND FLOWERS TO SUIT THE SIZE OF THE CONTAINER 

•  A quantity of Straight foliage to form the shape i.e Cornus Phormium; Soft Ruscus etc 
• Foliage of varying texture and size e.g. Cypressus; Ivy; Skimma etc.
• Some Larger Leaves (5-7 in quantity) eg. Fatsia Large Ivy etc
• Filler flowers (Garden Flowers are ok)  as this about the construction not to produce an Exhibit
• Seven large flowers to form a focal point (i.e Large Gerbera Roses ) 

Remember a pedestal is no different than a triangular table arrangement just larger so please have a go or just do a smallar version
